At Obvious Group, we are on the forefront of a new generation of proactive personal health and wellness services providers. With the vision of a healthier, happier human race, we have founded a mission of enhancing the vitality, longevity and overall well-being of our present day society through the promotion of pro-active health intervention, truthful education and preventative self•care initiatives. As an altruistic organization, driven by the quality of life needs and concerns of our youth, senior, special and deconditioned populations, we have combined over three decades of experience with universal principles to establish a holistic paradigm incorporating the highest standard of ethics, operations and practices.

Striving to revolutionize the health and fitness industries we have raised the bar of both facility and practitioner standards. Bridging the gaps between health care, sports medicine and fitness services, the Obvious Group has become Oklahoma’s first and only public center to be awarded third-party accreditation by the National Fitness and Therapy Association (NFTA). Our solid reputation, advanced credentials and tenure not only authenticate the integrity, credibility and distinction of the intricacies of our organization e.g., (degreed/certified practitioners, science based assessments, cutting-edge edification, safe and proven exercise/conditioning protocols, non-intimidating/supportive environment, profession referrals and alliances) but also further validates our undivided dedication to our cause and unwavering commitment to public health, safety and quality of life.

Increasing health risks and quality of life concerns of today's modern society e.g., (heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, obesity) combined with the depersonalization, skyrocketing costs and uncertainties about the inclusiveness of managed health care are influencing seekers of optimal health and well-being to search for complementary/integrative forms as well as alternative/preventative methods. Per Herbert Benson MD, (founder of The Mind-Body Medical Institute at Harvard) health and well-being can be viewed as a three-legged stool. The first leg is pharmaceuticals, the second surgical procedures and the third self-care. The self-care leg embodies a mindful way of living, which blends the dynamics of exercise, nutrition, supplementation, stress management and a personal belief system.

Self (self)

The union of elements (as body, emotions, thoughts, and sensations) that constitute the individuality and identity of a person.

Care (kâr)

Caution in avoiding harm or danger, Watchful oversight; charge or supervision, Attentive assistance or treatment to those in need.

The cornerstone of our integrative multi-disciplinary system of rejuvenation and self-preservation fosters the axiom that genuine wellness is not just the absence of disease or infirmity, but the essence of a mindful way of living that involves wholesome choices and healthful practices that actively enhance the quality of one’s life. Holistic health and healing encompass not only the symptoms and effects of illness, disease and dysfunction but the intervention and prevention as well. Elemental harmony is maintained through the balancing/clearing of the various systems and interrelations that constitute one's mind, body and being. Based on the law of nature (that the whole is made of interdependent parts) this ancient healing tradition (500 B.C.) considers the multi-dimensional aspects of existence embodying the interactions between who we are and the world we live in. It emphasizes the connection of the trinity combined with an understanding that wellness is an ongoing personal journey toward a goal of functioning at our very best level possible.

In the same light, a lifestyle approach to personal betterment does not just consider the extrinsic aspects of living (one's physical appearance or ability to perform) but a process of managing all the changeable variables that affect the way that we live. Lifestyle is the interaction of our thoughts, feelings, goals, attitudes, values, behaviors, and the interrelationships between others, our environment, and our selves.

As a full-circle, wellness resource promoting personal health, healing and human performance, our intent is to attract and enlighten seekers, helping them do more than put temporary patches on their health and fitness concerns. Holistically considering the cognitive, behavioral and the physical aspects of self-improvement, self-discipline and change, aspirants are empowered by knowledge to make conscious healthful choices, enabling them to achieve quality of life goals, adding years to their lives and life to their years. Understanding the disciplines that most directly affect the change process, we provide truthful education, non-intimidating environment and adherence support conducive to enhancing the nature of one’s lifestyles. Through personal commitment, self-effort and consistent practice, clients access their true potential, to look, feel and be their best, one step, one rep, one success at a time.

For thousands of years the middle path of moderation has been proclaimed to be the key to attainment on all levels. Based on the Kaizen principle (constant and never ending improvement) small refinements made on a daily basis will compound with interest to bring about long- term progress. As Confucius say “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” By shifting one's focus from the outcome to the process, all aspects of change can be experienced as a discovery.
