Gary Bishop

Since helping found the Obvious Group in 1999 Gary has since relocated to Texas due to his job in 2005.

Gary has 15 plus years of professional fitness experience. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise/Physical Education from Fort Hays State University, and is pursuing a masters of science in public health through Texas A&M University’s Health Science Center. He currently employed as the Manager of Wellness and Ergonomics Programs at Kerr McGee Corporation. He is responsible for the physical and financial management of the company’s on site as well as divisional off site fitness facilities. In his years of developing and delivering programs in a corporate environment, he has seen first hand the importance of implementing protocols that yield results and are administered in a structured manner. Convenience, time involvement, and personal attention are factors that affect the utilization and program attendance of the work force.

Not only has Gary selected fitness as a profession, largely due to his background in High School and College athletics, but continues to make the fitness lifestyle focal in his personal life. Gary is a competitive power lifter, bodybuilder, as well as a student of various martial arts. He holds advanced certifications as a certified fitness trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
